Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household

Educational Q&A

A courtier or servant should practice humility and discretion: avoid rivaling the king in appearance or status, keep respectful distance, and never divulge confidential counsel; these qualities earn royal trust and favor.

Dhaumya delivers practical instruction on conduct in a royal setting, outlining behaviors that preserve hierarchy and protect state secrets, thereby ensuring a person remains trusted and प्रिय (dear) to the king.
