Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
नचोष्ठी न भुजौ जानू न च वाक्यं समाक्षिपेत् । सदा वातं च वाचं च छीवन॑ चाचरेच्छनै:,राजाके समक्ष अपने दोनों हाथ, ओठ और घुटनोंको व्यर्थ न हिलावे; बकवाद न करे। सदा शनैः:-शनै: बोले। धीरेसे थूके और दूसरोंको पता न चले, इस प्रकार अधोवायु छोड़े
na coṣṭhī na bhujau jānū na ca vākyaṃ samākṣipet | sadā vātaṃ ca vācaṃ ca chīvanaṃ cācarec chanaiḥ ||
Dhaumya sprach: „In Gegenwart des Königs soll man nicht unruhig zappeln—weder Lippen noch Arme noch Knie dürfen sinnlos bewegt werden. Man soll keine Worte herausplatzen lassen und sich nicht in müßiges Gerede verlieren. Die Rede sei maßvoll und sanft, langsam gesprochen; selbst Spucken und das Ablassen von Wind geschehe leise und unauffällig, ohne dass andere es bemerken.“
