Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
यथा राजतकुले प्राप्य सर्वान् दोषांस्तरिष्यथ । दुर्वसं चैव कौरव्य जानता राजवेश्मनि,इसलिये मैं भी जो युक्तियुक्त बातें बताऊँगा, उन्हें यहाँ ध्यान देकर सुनो। राजपुत्रो! मैं यह बता रहा हूँ कि राजाके घरमें रहकर कैसा बर्ताव करना चाहिये? उसके अनुसार राजकुलमें रहते हुए भी तुमलोग वहाँके सब दोषोंसे पार हो जाओगे। कुरुनन्दन! विवेकी पुरुषके लिये भी राजमहलमें निवास करना अत्यन्त कठिन है
Dhaumya uvāca | yathā rājatakule prāpya sarvān doṣāṁs tariṣyatha | durvasaṁ caiva kauravya jñānatā rājaveśmani ||
Dhaumya sprach: „Ich will darlegen, wie ihr, nachdem ihr in ein königliches Haus eingetreten seid, dennoch alle dort entstehenden Fehltritte überwinden könnt. O Kauravya, selbst für einen verständigen Mann ist das Wohnen im Palast eines Königs überaus schwer; darum hört aufmerksam auf den besonnenen Rat, den ich nun über rechtes Verhalten im königlichen Haus vortrage.“
