Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 33 — Kuru Cattle-Raid and Matsya Mobilization (भूमिंजय-प्रेरणा)
सुस्कन्धो<यं महावृक्षो गदारूप इव स्थित: । अहमेनमपारुज्य द्रावयिष्यामि शात्रवान्,यह सामने जो महान् वृक्ष है, इसकी शाखाएँ बड़ी सुन्दर हैं। यह तो मानो गदाके ही रूपमें खड़ा है। अतः मैं इसीको उखाड़कर इसके द्वारा शत्रुदलको मार भगाऊँगा
suskandho 'yaṃ mahāvṛkṣo gadārūpa iva sthitaḥ | aham enam apārujya drāvayiṣyāmi śātravān |
Bhīmasena sprach: „Dieser große Baum vor uns hat einen festen, mächtigen Stamm; er steht da, als wäre er eine sichtbar gewordene Keule. Ich werde ihn ausreißen und, ihn als Waffe führend, die feindlichen Reihen in die Flucht schlagen.“
