Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 22 — Draupadī’s Abduction Attempt and Bhīma’s Suppression of the Kīcakas

अथैनमाक्षिप्य बलाद्‌ गृहमध्ये वृकोदर: । धूनयामास वेगेन वायुश्नण्ड इव द्रुमम्‌,फिर जिस प्रकार प्रचण्ड आँधी वृक्षको झकझोर डालती है, उसी प्रकार भीमसेन कीचकको बलपूर्वक धक्के दे-देकर उसे नृत्यशालामें वेगसे घुमाने लगे

athainam ākṣipya balād gṛhamadhye vṛkodaraḥ | dhūnayāmāsa vegena vāyuśṇāṇḍa iva drumam ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Dann packte Vṛkodara (Bhīma) ihn, schleuderte ihn mit bloßer Gewalt im Saal umher und schüttelte ihn mit rasender Geschwindigkeit—wie ein wilder Windstoß, der einen Baum peitscht und herumwirbelt. Die Szene betont die schnelle Vollstreckung der Gerechtigkeit gegen Kīcakas Machtmissbrauch und den Schutz von Draupadīs Ehre, vollzogen mit entschlossener Stärke statt mit langgezogener Grausamkeit.
