Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्

ततोडर्जुनो मुर्दं लेभे लब्धास्त्र: पुरुषर्षभ: । कृतार्थमथ चात्मानं स मेने पूर्णणमानसम्‌,तदनन्तर देवताओंसे दिव्यास्त्र प्राप्त करके पुरुषोत्तम अर्जुनको बड़ी प्रसन्नता हुई; उन्होंने अपने-आपको कृतार्थ एवं पूर्णमनोरथ माना

tato 'rjuno mūrddhaṃ lebhe labdhāstraḥ puruṣarṣabhaḥ | kṛtārtham atha cātmānaṃ sa mene pūrṇamanāsam ||

Da empfand Arjuna, der Stier unter den Menschen, nachdem er die göttlichen Waffen erlangt hatte, sein Haupt von Ehre erhoben. Er hielt sich für am Ziel und seinen Geist für völlig gesättigt—da er sah, wie die Gunst der Götter und das disziplinierte Streben nach Macht mit Erfolg gekrönt waren.
