Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्
ते भानुमन्ति चित्राणि शिखराणि महागिरे: । समास्थायार्जुनं तत्र ददृशुस्तपसान्वितम्
te bhānumanti citrāṇi śikharāṇi mahāgireḥ | samāsthāyārjunaṃ tatra dadṛśus tapasānvitam ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana sprach: Als sie die strahlenden, wundersamen Gipfel des großen Berges erreicht hatten, sahen sie dort Arjuna—standhaft und erfüllt von tapas (Askese und Selbstzucht)—versunken in seine disziplinierte Übung.
