मარკण्डेयागमनम् तथा सत्यव्रत-उपदेशः

Arrival of Mārkaṇḍeya and Counsel on Truth-Vows

ब्रद्य क्षत्रेण संसृष्टं क्षत्रं च ब्रह्मणा सह । उदीर्णे दहतः शत्रून्‌ वनानीवाग्निमारुती,“जब ब्राह्मण क्षत्रियसे और क्षत्रिय ब्राह्मणसे मिल जाय तो दोनों प्रचण्ड शक्तिशाली होकर उसी प्रकार अपने शत्रुओंको भस्म कर देते हैं, जैसे अग्नि और वायु मिलकर सारे वनको जला देते हैं

brāhma kṣatreṇa saṃsṛṣṭaṃ kṣatraṃ ca brahmaṇā saha | udīrṇe dahataḥ śatrūn vanānīvāgnimārutī ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Wenn die priesterliche Macht (brāhma) sich mit der Kriegergewalt (kṣatra) verbindet und die Kriegergewalt an der Seite der priesterlichen steht, dann verbrennen die beiden—einmal völlig entfacht—ihre Feinde, wie Feuer und Wind gemeinsam ganze Wälder verzehren.“
