Duryodhana’s Return toward Hastinapura; Karṇa’s Consolation
भोजनाच्छादने चैषां नित्यं मे श्वशुरः स्थित: । रामप्रभृतय: सर्वे भजन्त्यन्धकवृष्णय:,मेरे श्वशुरजी प्रतिदिन इनके भोजन-वस्त्र आदिकी समुचित व्यवस्थापर दृष्टि रखते हैं। बलरामजी आदि सभी अन्धकवंशी तथा वृष्णिवंशी यादव उनकी सुख-सुविधाका ध्यान रखते हैं
bhojanācchādane caiṣāṃ nityaṃ me śvaśuraḥ sthitaḥ | rāmaprabhṛtayaḥ sarve bhajanty andhakavṛṣṇayaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Was ihre Speise und ihre Kleidung betrifft, ist mein Schwiegervater unablässig aufmerksam und sorgt dafür, dass es ihnen an angemessener Versorgung nicht fehlt. Und alle Andhakas und Vṛṣṇis—allen voran Balarāma—leisten Dienst und wachen über ihr Wohlergehen.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights gṛhastha-dharma and kinship responsibility: ensuring food and clothing for those under one’s care is a continuous duty, and noble families express dharma through practical service and attentive support rather than mere words.
Vaiśampāyana reports that the speaker’s father-in-law regularly oversees arrangements for food and clothing, while the Yādava clans—especially Balarāma and others among the Andhakas and Vṛṣṇis—actively attend to the well-being and comfort of the concerned persons.
