अग्निवंशवर्णनम् (Agni-vaṃśa-varṇana) / The Genealogy and Function of Agni

षण्णामात्मनि नित्यानामैश्वर्य योडथिगच्छति । न स पापै: कुतो<नर्थर्युज्यते विजितेन्द्रिय:

ṣaṇṇām ātmani nityānām aiśvaryaṃ yo ’dhigacchati | na sa pāpaiḥ kuto ’narthair yujyate vijitendriyaḥ ||

Wer in sich selbst die Herrschaft über die sechs stets gegenwärtigen Kräfte erlangt, ist ein Bezwinger der Sinne. Ein solcher Mensch wird nicht von Sünden befleckt—wie viel weniger kann er in Unheil verstrickt werden, das aus Fehlverhalten geboren ist?
