तं॑ पतन्तं महाबाहो शूलपट्टिशपाणय: । अभिष्नन्तो भृशं वीर मम चेतो हाकम्पयन्
taṁ patantaṁ mahābāho śūla-paṭṭiśa-pāṇayaḥ | abhiṣṇantō bhṛśaṁ vīra mama ceto hy akampayan ||
O Held mit mächtigen Armen! Während er stürzte, schlugen die feindlichen Krieger—Speere und Streitäxte in den Händen—immer wieder mit grausamer Wucht auf ihn ein. Dieser erbarmungslose Angriff, selbst noch im Augenblick seines Niedergangs, ließ mein Herz erzittern.
