अध्याय १९० — वामदेव-वाम्य-वृत्तान्तः
The Vāmadeva Horses Episode and the Ethics of Promise
अग्निरास्यं क्षिति: पादौ चन्द्रादित्यौ च लोचने । द्यौर्मूर्धा खं दिश: श्रोत्रे तथा5प: स्वेदसम्भवा:,अग्नि मेरा मुख है, पृथ्वी चरण है, चन्द्रमा और सूर्य नेत्र हैं। द्युलोक मेरा मस्तक है। आकाश और दिशाएँ मेरे कान हैं तथा जल मेरे शरीरके पसीनेसे प्रकट हुआ है। दिशाओंसहित आकाश मेरा शरीर है। वायु मेरे मनमें स्थित है। मैंने पर्याप्त दक्षिणाओंसे युक्त अनेक शत यज्ञोंद्वारा यजन किया है
agnir āsyam kṣitiḥ pādau candrādityau ca locane | dyaur mūrdhā khaṃ diśaḥ śrotre tathāpaḥ svedasambhavāḥ |
Die Gottheit verkündet ihre kosmische Gestalt: „Feuer ist mein Mund; die Erde sind meine Füße; Mond und Sonne sind meine Augen. Der Himmel ist mein Haupt; Raum und Himmelsrichtungen sind meine Ohren; und die Wasser entstehen aus meinem Schweiß.“
