Adhyāya 160: Dikpāla-Cosmography and the Sun’s Kālacakra (दिक्पाल-विश्ववर्णनम् तथा आदित्यस्य कालचक्रम्)
उपासीनस्य धनदं तुम्बुरो: पर्वसंधिषु । गीतसामस्वनस्तात श्रूयते गन्धमादने,तात! पर्वसंधिके समय गन्धमादन पर्वतपर कुबेरकी सेवामें उपस्थित हुए तुम्बुरु गन्धर्वके साम-गानका स्वर स्पष्ट सुनायी पड़ता है
upāsīnasya dhanadaṃ tumburoḥ parvasaṃdhiṣu | gītasāmasvanas tāta śrūyate gandhamādane ||
O Lieber, auf dem Gandhamādana, an den Bergpässen, ist deutlich der Sāman-Gesang Tumburus zu hören, des Gandharva, der in sitzender Haltung Dhanada (Kubera) dient.
आर्शिषिण उवाच
The verse highlights the dignity of reverent attendance (upāsanā) and suggests that sacred, disciplined music (Sāman-chanting) refines the atmosphere and the mind, aligning one toward auspiciousness and right conduct.
On the Gandhamādana mountain, at its passes, the speaker notes that Tumburu the Gandharva is present in service to Kubera (Dhanada), and the distinct sound of his Sāman-style singing can be heard.
