Bhāgīratha’s Tapas and the Petition to Gaṅgā (गङ्गावतरण-प्रसङ्गः)

तपःसिद्धिसमायोगात्‌ स राजा भरतर्षभ । वनाज्जगाम त्रिदिवं कालयोगेन भारत,भरतश्रेष्ठ] राजा दिलीप तपस्याजनक सिद्धिसे संयुक्त हो अन्तकाल आनेपर वनसे स्वर्गलोकको चले गये

tapaḥsiddhisamāyogāt sa rājā bharatarṣabha | vanāj jagāma tridivaṃ kālayogena bhārata ||

O Stier unter den Bhāratas, jener König—der die Frucht der Askese (tapas) erlangt hatte—ging, als die bestimmte Zeit gekommen war, aus dem Wald in die Himmelswelt ein.
