Kṛṣṇa at Duryodhana’s House: Refusal of Hospitality and Departure to Vidura (कृष्णस्य धार्तराष्ट्रनिवेशनगमनम्)

अथो धनंजयं ब्रूया नित्योद्युक्ते वृकोदरम्‌ । यदर्थ क्षत्रिया सूते तस्य कालोडयमागत:,“श्रीकृष्ण! तुम अर्जुन तथा युद्धके लिये सदा उद्यत रहनेवाले भीमसेनसे कहना कि क्षत्राणी जिस प्रयोजनके लिये पुत्र उत्पन्न करती है, उसे पूरा करनेका यह समय आ गया है

atho dhanañjayaṃ brūyā nityodyukte vṛkodaram | yadartha kṣatriyā sūte tasya kālo ’yam āgataḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Dann sage Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) und auch Vṛkodara (Bhīma), der stets zum Handeln bereit ist: Nun ist die Zeit gekommen, eben jenen Zweck zu erfüllen, um dessentwillen eine Kṣatriya-Frau einen Sohn gebiert.“
