(Mādhavī Offered to Gālava) — Udyoga Parva 113

Tapas is not only personal discipline but can also be shared as spiritual support: a person already established in righteous, kingly self-restraint (rājarṣi-tapas) may still be further strengthened by the brahmanical austerity of another, emphasizing humility and the complementary roles of kṣatriya and brāhmaṇa virtues.
Nārada reassures the addressed person that someone (implied in context) will contribute a portion of his ascetic merit to them, ‘yoking’ them to that spiritual power; even though the listener is already ‘complete’ through royal-sage discipline, the other’s brahmanical tapas will augment and perfect them further.
