Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)
Life constantly presents stimuli for pleasure and fear, but wisdom is shown by inner steadiness: the wise are not mentally conquered by fluctuating events, whereas the foolish are repeatedly seized by them.
Vaiśampāyana delivers a reflective, didactic observation within the Svargārohaṇa context, emphasizing the moral psychology of the characters’ final journey: external circumstances keep changing, but true discernment is measured by unshaken composure.
