Kapila–Cow Dialogue: Authority of Householder and Renunciant Dharmas
तथा तानपि संवृद्धान् दृष्टवा चाप्तुवतां मुदम् । शकुनौ निर्भयौ तत्र ऊषतुश्चात्मजै: सह
tathā tān api saṁvṛddhān dṛṣṭvā cāptuvatāṁ mudam | śakunau nirbhayau tatra ūṣatuś cātmajaiḥ saha ||
Bhīṣma sprach: Als er die Jungvögel herangewachsen sah und die Freude derer, die ihr Begehren erlangt hatten, blieb das Vogelpaar dort furchtlos, zusammen mit seiner Nachkommenschaft.
भीष्म उवाच
Steady self-restraint and faithful observance of vows foster conditions where fear subsides and beings can live together peacefully; ethical discipline bears fruit not only inwardly but also in the surrounding world.
The birds’ young have grown; the joy of those who have achieved their aim is observed; and the pair of birds, now secure with their offspring, remain there without fear—marking a resolution of tension into trust and coexistence.
