Nakula’s Counsel on Yajña, Dāna, and Tyāga (नकुलोपदेशः—यज्ञदानत्यागविचारः)

एतस्मिन्‌ वर्तमानस्य विधावप्रतिषेधिते । ब्राह्मणस्य महाराज नोच्छित्तिविद्यते क्वचित्‌,महाराज! इस गृहस्थ-आश्रममें ही रहकर वेद-विहित कर्ममें लगे हुए ब्राह्मगका कभी उच्छेद (पतन) नहीं होता

etasmin vartamānasya vidhāv apratiṣedhite | brāhmaṇasya mahārāja nocchittir vidyate kvacit ||

O großer König, für einen Brāhmaṇa, der in diesem Stand (dem des Hausvaters) lebt und der vom Veda gebotenen — nicht untersagten — Lebensordnung folgt, gibt es nirgends Vernichtung oder Niedergang. Bleibt er im gṛhastha-āśrama und ist in den vorgeschriebenen Pflichten tätig, so gerät er nicht ins Verderben.
