शृणु चेदं वचो महां सत्येन वदत: प्रभो

Transliteration

śṛṇu cedam vaco mahān satyena vadataḥ prabho | prabho! satyena śapathaṃ kṛtvā yad vadāmi tan me vacaḥ śṛṇu | iṣṭāpūrta-dāna-dharma-ādi-śubha-karmabhiḥ śapathaṃ kṛtvā pratijānāmi—adya śrīkṛṣṇasya paśyataḥ sarvopāyair aśeṣān pāñcālān yamarāja-lokaṃ preṣayiṣyāmi | mahārāja! etad-arthaṃ mām adya ājñāpaya ||

Translation

Sañjaya sprach: „O Herr, höre diese gewichtigen Worte, die in Wahrheit gesprochen sind. O Herr, ich rede unter dem Eid der Wahrheit—höre mich. Ich schwöre bei dem Verdienst meiner Opfer und meiner öffentlichen Wohltaten, bei meinen Gaben, beim Dharma und bei anderen glückverheißenden Taten: Heute, selbst während Śrī Kṛṣṇa zusieht, werde ich mit allen nur möglichen Mitteln alle Pāñcālas ohne Ausnahme in das Reich Yamas senden. O König, erteile mir dafür deinen Befehl.“
