न ध्रुवं सुखमस्तीति कुतो राष्ट्र कुतो यश: । इह कीर्तिविधातव्या सा च युद्धेन नान्यथा
Translation
Kein Glück ist gewiss und dauerhaft; wie sollten dann Reich und Ruhm Bestand haben? In dieser Welt gilt es allein kīrti — den rühmlichen Namen — zu erwerben, und diese kīrti wird durch nichts anderes erlangt als durch den Krieg.
