चरणौ दहामानौ च नाचिन्तयदनिन्दिता । कुर्वाणा दुष्करं कर्म महर्षिप्रियकाम्यया,उस साध्वीने अपने जलते हुए चरणोंकी कुछ भी परवा नहीं की। वह महर्षिका प्रिय करनेकी इच्छासे दुष्कर कार्य कर रही थी

Transliteration

caraṇau dahāmānau ca nācintayad aninditā | kurvāṇā duṣkaraṃ karma maharṣipriyakāmyayā ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Obwohl ihre Füße brannten, schenkte die tadellose Frau dem keine Beachtung. Um dem großen Weisen (Mahārṣi) zu gefallen, unternahm sie eine überaus schwere Tat—sie ertrug den Schmerz, ohne in ihrem Entschluss zu wanken.
