कार्त्तिकेयाभिषेकः — Consecration of Kārttikeya and the Enumeration of His Retinue
देवर्षयश्न सिद्धाश्न बृहस्पतिपुरोगमा: । पितरो जगत: श्रेष्ठा देवानामपि देवता:
devarṣayaś ca siddhāś ca bṛhaspatipurogamāḥ | pitaraḥ jagataḥ śreṣṭhā devānām api devatāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Dort waren göttliche Seher und vollendete Wesen, angeführt von Bṛhaspati; und die Pitṛs—die Ahnen, die Erhabensten unter den Welten—wurden als Gottheiten verehrt, ja selbst von den Göttern.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores a dharmic hierarchy of reverence: even the gods honor higher principles embodied by sages and especially the Pitṛs, highlighting the ethical weight of honoring spiritual authority and ancestral lineage.
Vaiśampāyana describes an exalted gathering/attendance: divine sages and Siddhas, with Bṛhaspati at their head, along with the Pitṛs—portrayed as supremely venerable—are present as witnesses or participants in the unfolding events.
