अध्याय ४ — दुर्योधनस्य असंधि-निश्चयः
Duryodhana’s Refusal of Reconciliation
यद् ब्रूयाद्धि हृषीकेशो राजानमपराजितम् । अर्जुनं भीमसेनं च सर्वे कुर्युरसंशयम्
yad brūyāddhi hṛṣīkeśo rājānam aparājitam | arjunaṃ bhīmasenaṃ ca sarve kuryur asaṃśayam ||
Sañjaya sprach: „Was immer Hṛṣīkeśa (Kṛṣṇa) dem unbesiegten König sagen würde, und ebenso Arjuna und Bhīmasena—alle würden es ohne Zweifel ausführen.“
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical force of rightful counsel: Kṛṣṇa’s words are trusted as aligned with dharma and practical wisdom, so his instruction would be accepted and enacted by all key leaders without hesitation.
Sanjaya, narrating events to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, emphasizes Kṛṣṇa’s commanding influence over major figures—an undefeated king, Arjuna, and Bhīma—indicating that Kṛṣṇa’s guidance can unify resolve and action in the midst of the war’s critical decisions.
