नाशवनुवंस्तदा युद्धे प्रत्युद्यातुं महारथम् । समरांगणमें उनके बाणोंसे आच्छादित हुए पाण्डवोंके महारथी उस युद्धमें महारथी शल्यकी ओर आगे बढ़नेमें समर्थ न हो सके
nāśakan uvaṁs tadā yuddhe pratyudyātuṁ mahāratham | samarāṅgaṇe śalyasya bāṇair ācchāditāḥ pāṇḍavānāṁ mahārathāḥ tasmin yuddhe mahārathi-śalyaṁ prati agrato gantum na śekuḥ |
Sanjaya sprach: Da waren in jener Schlacht die großen Wagenkämpfer der Pāṇḍavas, auf dem Kampfplatz von Śalyas Pfeilen bedeckt und überwältigt, nicht imstande, vorzurücken, um diesem großen Krieger entgegenzutreten.
