अध्याय ९ — दुर्योधनस्य अन्त्यावस्था, विलापः, तथा सौप्तिक-प्रतिवृत्तम्
Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report
वयमेव त्रयो राजन् गच्छन्तं परमां गतिम्,“राजन्! परम गतिको जाते समय आपके पीछे-पीछे जो हम तीनों भी नहीं चल रहे हैं, इसके कारण हम स्वर्ग और अर्थ दोनोंसे वंचित हो आपके सुकृतोंका स्मरण करते हुए दिन- रात शोकाग्निमें जलते रहेंगे
vayameva trayo rājan gacchantaṃ paramāṃ gatim |
Sañjaya sprach: „O König, da du zum höchsten Zustand schreitest, sind wir drei allein es, die dir nicht folgen. Darum, des Himmels wie auch des irdischen Gedeihens beraubt, werden wir deiner Verdienste gedenken und Tag und Nacht im Feuer der Trauer brennen.“
