Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how overwhelming collective aggression can obscure even a powerful individual, using the ethical-neutral but sobering battlefield image of the sun hidden by clouds. It invites reflection on the impersonal momentum of war, where skill and valor are tested not only by single opponents but by massed, coordinated violence.

Sanjaya describes warriors launching diverse arrows and sataghn2b missiles adorned with tinkling bells, so densely that the targeted hero is completely enveloped1ike the sun disappearing behind thick clouds.
