Chapter 99: Sātyaki and Duḥśāsana’s engagement

खड्गेन चरतस्तस्य शोणाश्वानधितिष्ठत: । न ददर्शान्तरं द्रोणस्तदद्भुतमिवाभवत्‌,लाल घोड़ोंपर खड़े हो तलवार घुमाते हुए धृष्टद्युम्नके ऊपर प्रहार करनेके लिये आचार्य द्रोणको थोड़ा-सा भी अवसर नहीं दिखायी दिया। वह अद्भुत-सी बात हुई

khaḍgena caratastasya śoṇāśvān adhitiṣṭhataḥ | na dadarśāntaraṃ droṇas tad adbhutam ivābhavat ||

Sañjaya sprach: Während er, auf den roten Pferden stehend, umherging und das Schwert schwang, sah Droṇa nicht die geringste Lücke, um Dhṛṣṭadyumna zu treffen. Es war wie ein Wunder—ein außergewöhnlicher Augenblick im Gedränge der Schlacht, in dem Können und Umstände selbst einem Meister die Gelegenheit versagten.
