Sātyaki Pressed by Kauravas; Duryodhana and Kṛtavarmā Engagements
As a chapter-colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction but through framing: it marks a narrative unit where unjust aggression and prideful violence culminate in defeat, reinforcing the epic’s ethical pattern that adharma in war leads to downfall and loss of honor.
This is the formal closing line for the chapter: it states that the ninetieth chapter has ended, situated in the Droṇa Parva and within the Jayadratha-slaying section, and that the chapter’s theme concerns the defeat of Duḥśāsana’s troops.
