शरौघेणाप्रमेयेण त्वरमाणो जिघांसया । सभरनुर्बाणकेयूरो बाहू समुकुर्ट शिर:
śaraughenāprameyeṇa tvaramāṇo jighāṃsayā | sabharanur bāṇakeyūro bāhū samukuṭaśiraḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: Vom Verlangen zu töten getrieben und eilends voranstürmend, drang er inmitten eines unermesslichen Pfeilhagels vor—den Bogen bereits gespannt, die Arme mit Köchern wie mit Armreifen geschmückt und das Haupt vom Helm gekrönt—und setzte mit düsterer Kampfentschlossenheit nach.
