The Tumultuous Battle around Droṇa’s Formation
द्रोणं द्रोणमिति क्रूरा: पडचाला: समचोदयन् । मा द्रोणमिति पुत्रास्ते कुरून् सर्वानचोदयन्,क्रूर स्वभाववाले पांचालसैनिक एक-दूसरेको प्रेरित करने लगे, अरे! द्रोणाचार्यको पकड़ लो, द्रोणाचार्यको बंदी बना लो और आपके पुत्र समस्त कौरवोंको आदेश दे रहे थे कि देखना, द्रोणाचार्यको शत्रु पकड़ न पावें
sañjaya uvāca | droṇaṃ droṇam iti krūrāḥ pāñcālāḥ samacodayan | mā droṇam iti putrās te kurūn sarvān acodayan |
Sañjaya sprach: Die wilden Pāñcālas trieben einander an und riefen unablässig: „Droṇa! Droṇa!“—das heißt: „Ergreift Droṇācārya, nehmt ihn gefangen!“ Zugleich ermahnten deine Söhne alle Kurus: „Lasst nicht zu, dass Droṇa vom Feind gefasst wird!“ So schärfte sich auf beiden Seiten die Dringlichkeit der Schlacht um die Person des Lehrers, dessen Gefangennahme oder Schutz als entscheidender Einsatz galt—moralisch wie strategisch.
