karburāḥ śitipādās tu svarṇajālaparicchadāḥ |
jarāsandhadhihayāḥ śreṣṭhāḥ sahadevam udāvahan ||
Sañjaya sprach: Die besten Pferde aus Jarāsandhas Geschlecht — gescheckt, mit hellen Füßen und mit goldenem Netzgeschmeide geziert — trugen Sahadeva, Jarāsandhas Sohn, auf das Schlachtfeld.
संजय उवाच
Even amid the splendor and resources of kingship, the warrior’s focus is dharma: being carried into battle symbolizes readiness to perform one’s appointed duty without being distracted by outward grandeur.
Sañjaya describes Sahadeva being conveyed into the battlefield by excellent, dappled, white-footed horses associated with Jarāsandha’s line, richly adorned with golden net-like trappings.
