भगवन् भूतभव्येश लोकनाथ जगत्पते । प्रसादं कुरु शक्रस्य त्वया क्रोधार्दितस्य वै,भूत, वर्तमान और भविष्यके स्वामी भगवन्! लोकनाथ! जगत्पते! ये इन्द्र आपके क्रोधसे पीड़ित हो रहे हैं। आप इनपर कृपा कीजिये
bhagavan bhūtabhavyēśa lokanātha jagatpate | prasādaṃ kuru śakrasya tvayā krodhārditasya vai ||
Vyāsa sprach: „O erhabener Herr, Gebieter über Vergangenheit und Zukunft, Beschützer der Welten, Herr des Universums—gewähre Śakra (Indra) deine Gnade. Wahrlich, er wird von dem Zorn bedrängt, der aus dir hervorgegangen ist; so erbarme dich seiner.“
व्यास उवाच
Even powerful beings like Indra are subject to the consequences of divine displeasure; the verse highlights the ethical ideal of tempering wrath with compassion and seeking reconciliation through grace (prasāda).
Vyāsa petitions the supreme Lord with honorific epithets and asks Him to relent, requesting mercy for Śakra (Indra), who is described as suffering due to the Lord’s anger.
