यतमानास्तु पञ्चाला न शेकुः प्रतिवीक्षितुम् । उन सम्पूर्ण महारथियोंद्वारा सुरक्षित हुए द्रोणाचार्यकी ओर पांचाल-सैनिक प्रयत्न करनेपर भी आँख उठाकर देखतक न सके
yatamānās tu pañcālā na śekuḥ prativīkṣitum |
Sañjaya sprach: Obwohl die Pañcālas mit aller Macht rangen, vermochten sie nicht einmal die Augen zu heben, um zurückzublicken — so völlig waren sie überwältigt und aufgehalten durch den Ring vollgerüsteter großer Wagenkämpfer, die Droṇācārya bewachten.
