Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how unchecked violence and fear-inducing warfare destroy śānti (inner and outer peace) for all—warriors and even animals—implying an ethical critique of terror and cruelty as forces aligned with adharma.

Sañjaya reports that the Pañcāla and Sṛñjaya forces, along with their horses and elephants, are being brutally harassed by rākṣasa fighters; the pressure is so intense that they cannot find any respite on the battlefield.
