Educational Q&A

The verse highlights decisive kṣatriya conduct in battle: when confronted by hostile forces—even extraordinary, aerial rākṣasas—a warrior is expected to act promptly and effectively, maintaining resolve and protecting his side without wavering.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Karṇa begins shooting many golden-feathered, enemy-killing arrows at rākṣasas who are moving through the sky, indicating an intense phase of combat against aerial opponents.
