न च कज्चन निन्दन्ति सन्त: शूरा नरर्षभा: | “नरश्रेष्ठ शूरवीर सज्जन शत्रुको जीतकर बढ़-बढ़कर बातें नहीं बनाते, किसीको कट वचन नहीं कहते और न किसीकी निन््दा ही करते हैं
na ca kaścana nindanti santaḥ śūrā naraṛṣabhāḥ |
Sañjaya sprach: „Die wahrhaft Edlen—heldenhafte Männer, die Besten unter den Menschen—geben sich nicht dem Tadeln irgendjemandes hin. Selbst in Sieg und Stärke enthalten sie sich harter Rede und des Fehlersuchens an anderen; solche Selbstzucht ist ein Zeichen des Charakters mitten in der Gewalt des Krieges.“
