Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the battlefield ethic of steadfastness under pressure: even when confronted and surrounded by many elite fighters, a warrior’s resolve and duty-driven advance are tested. It underscores how opposition and restraint are integral to the moral and strategic trials of war.

Sañjaya reports that a warrior rapidly advances toward the Kāmboja contingent, but upon reaching it he is intercepted and surrounded by numerous brave mahārathas, who collectively attempt to halt his movement.
