saṃjñāṃ copālabhad vīraḥ kālaṃ saṃcintya bhārata | antarīkṣe ca śuśrāva divyā vācaḥ samantataḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: „O Bhārata, nachdem er über den rechten Zeitpunkt nachgesonnen hatte, gewann der heldenhafte Bhīṣma seine volle Fassung wieder. Da vernahm man aus dem Himmel eine göttliche Stimme, die aus allen Richtungen widerhallte.“
संजय उवाच

Sañjaya reports that Bhīṣma, after considering the proper moment, regains composure; immediately afterward a celestial voice is heard from all directions in the sky, signaling an extraordinary, omen-like intervention or proclamation.
