Consolation of Yudhiṣṭhira; Rites and Gifts; Return to Hastināpura
आश्चासितोऊ हं प्राग्वृद्धैर्भवद्धिर्मुनिपुड़वै: । न सूक्ष्ममपि मे किंचिद् व्यलीकमिह विद्यते
āśvāsito ’haṃ prāg vṛddhair bhavadbhir munipuṅgavaiḥ | na sūkṣmam api me kiñcid vyalīkam iha vidyate ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Früher wurdet ihr mir zum Trost—ihr Ältesten und Vornehmsten unter den Weisen. Eure Worte haben mir tiefe Zuversicht geschenkt. Nun bleibt in mir nicht einmal die geringste Spur von Kummer oder innerer Unruhe.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Wise counsel from elders and accomplished sages can steady the mind: when guidance is truthful and compassionate, it removes even subtle remnants of grief and restores inner clarity.
Vaiśampāyana reports that he has been reassured by venerable sages; their words have dispelled his sorrow so completely that no trace of inner distress remains.
