जगमदग्निर्वाच स्थिरं चापि चल॑ चापि जाने त्वां ज्ञानचक्षुषा | अवश्यं विनयाधान कार्यमद्य मया तव,जमदग्नि बोले--हमारा लक्ष्य चंचल हो या स्थिर, हम ज्ञानदृष्टिसे पहचान गये हैं कि तुम्हीं सूर्य हो। अत: आज दण्ड देकर तुम्हें अवश्य ही विनययुक्त बनायेंगे

Transliteration

Jamadagnir uvāca: sthiraṁ cāpi calaṁ cāpi jāne tvāṁ jñānacakṣuṣā | avaśyaṁ vinayādhānaṁ kāryam adya mayā tava ||

Translation

Jamadagni sprach: „Ob dein Vorhaben fest ist oder schwankt, ich erkenne dich mit dem Auge wahren Wissens — du bist die Sonne. Darum muss ich dir heute gewiss Zucht auferlegen, damit du in Demut und rechter Lebensführung gegründet wirst.“
