मध्यल्ि वै निमेषार्ध तिष्ठसि त्वं दिवाकर । तत्र भेत्स्यामि सूर्य त्वां न मे5त्रास्ति विचारणा
madhyale vai nimeṣārdhaṁ tiṣṭhasi tvaṁ divākara | tatra bhetsyāmi sūrya tvāṁ na me 'trāsti vicāraṇā ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „O Sonne, in der Mitte deines Laufs verharrst du nur für einen halben Augenblick. Genau dort werde ich dich durchbohren — hier kenne ich weder Zögern noch einen zweiten Gedanken.“
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights unwavering resolve (dṛḍha-niścaya): once a righteous aim is fixed, one should act without wavering, hesitation, or fear—even when the task appears impossible.
Bhīṣma addresses the Sun directly, declaring that at the precise instant the Sun is at a certain midpoint he will pierce it, emphasizing his extraordinary determination and the intensity of his vow-like intent.
