गोप्रदानगुणाः तथा कपिलागोविधानम्
Merits of Cow-Gift and the Origin-Account of Kapilā Cows
सत्ये धर्मे च निरतस्तस्य शक्र फलं शृणु । गोसहस्रेण समिता तस्य थेनुर्भवत्युत
pitāmaha uvāca | satye dharme ca niratas tasya śakra phalaṃ śṛṇu | go-sahasreṇa samitā tasya dhenur bhavaty uta | śacīpate śakra |
Pitāmaha sprach: „O Śakra, höre die Frucht dessen, der in Wahrheit und Dharma standhaft ist. Selbst eine einzige Kuh, die ein solcher Mensch verschenkt, wird dem Verdienst nach einer Gabe von tausend Kühen gleich. O Śakra, Herr der Śacī—niemals soll man zu einem Brāhmaṇa harte Worte sprechen, und nicht einmal im Geist Feindschaft gegen Kühe hegen. Wer mit einem ‚kuhgleichen‘ Lebensunterhalt lebt—sanft, ohne zu verletzen, andere tragend—und den Kühen Futter und Pflege bereitet, dabei fest in Wahrheit und Rechtschaffenheit bleibt, erlangt dieses erhabene Ergebnis.“
