स्वभावश्चैव नारीणां नराणामिह दूषणम् | अत्यर्थ न प्रसज्जन्ते प्रमदासु विपक्चित:,इस जगतमें मनुष्योंको कलंकित कर देना नारियोंका स्वभाव है; अतः विवेकी पुरुष युवती स्त्रियोंमें अधिक आसक्त नहीं होते हैं
svabhāvaś caiva nārīṇāṁ narāṇām iha dūṣaṇam | atyarthaṁ na prasajjante pramadāsu vipakṣitaḥ ||
Bhīṣma sprach: In dieser Welt ist es die natürliche Neigung der Frauen, zu einer Ursache zu werden, durch die Männer in Verruf geraten. Darum hängen verständige Männer nicht übermäßig an jungen Frauen.
