इत्युक्त्वा सुह्ृद: सर्वान् सम्परिष्वज्य चैव ह । पुनरेवाब्रवीद् धीमान् युधिष्ठिरमिदं वच:
ity uktvā suhṛdaḥ sarvān sampariṣvajya caiva ha | punar evābravīd dhīmān yudhiṣṭhiram idaṃ vacaḥ ||
Nachdem er so gesprochen hatte, umarmte der weise Bhīṣma alle seine Wohlgesinnten. Dann wandte er sich erneut an Yudhiṣṭhira und sprach: „Yudhiṣṭhira, du sollst stets alle Brāhmaṇas im Allgemeinen ehren—und besonders die Gelehrten—ebenso deine Lehrer und die Opferpriester (ṛtvij).“
