ब्राह्मणाश्रैव ते नित्यं प्राज्ञाश्रैव विशेषत: | आचार्या ऋत्विजश्वचैव पूजनीया जनाधिप,ऐसा कहकर बुद्धिमान् भीष्मजीने अपने सब सुहृदोंको गले लगाया और युधिष्छिरसे पुनः इस प्रकार कहा--'युधिष्ठिर! तुम्हें सामान्यतः सभी ब्राह्मणोंकी विशेषतः विद्वानोंकी और आचार्य तथा ऋत्विजोंकी सदा ही पूजा करनी चाहिये”

brāhmaṇāś caiva te nityaṃ prājñāś caiva viśeṣataḥ |
ācāryā ṛtvijaś caiva pūjanīyā janādhipa ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Herr der Menschen, du sollst die Brāhmaṇas stets ehren—und besonders die Weisen unter ihnen. Ebenso sind deine Lehrer und die Opferpriester (ṛtvij) jederzeit zu verehren.“
