Anuśāsana-parva 17

सर्वकर्मा स्वयम्भूत आदिरादिकरो निधि: । सहस्राक्षो विशालाक्ष: सोमो नक्षत्रसाधक:

sarvakarmā svayambhūta ādir ādikaro nidhiḥ | sahasrākṣo viśālākṣaḥ somo nakṣatrasādhakaḥ ||

Vāyu-deva sprach: „Er ist der Vollbringer aller Werke, selbstseiend und ewig vollendet; der erste Anfang, der das uranfängliche Prinzip hervorbringt, und ein unerschöpflicher Schatz an Macht. Er ist der Tausendäugige, der Weitblickende; er ist Soma — in der Gestalt des Mondes — und der Erhalter und Lenker der Sterne.“
