Shloka 13
तस्माद् दद्यान्न याचेत पूजयेद् धार्मिकानपि । सुभाषी प्रियकृच्छान्त: सर्वसत्त्वाविहिंसक:
tasmād dadyān na yāceta pūjayed dhārmikān api | subhāṣī priyakṛc chāntaḥ sarvasattvā-vihiṃsakaḥ ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Darum soll man selbst Almosen geben und nicht von anderen erbetteln. Man soll die Rechtschaffenen ehren, gute Worte sprechen, zum Wohl aller handeln, in ruhiger Gesinnung bleiben und keinem Lebewesen Gewalt antun.“
