Rudra-Śiva: Names, Two Natures, and the Logic of Epithets (रुद्रनाम-बहुरूपत्व-प्रकरणम्)
ये त्वन्ये शुद्धमनसो दयाधर्मपरायणा: । सन्तश्नलक्रचरा: पुण्या: सोमलोकचराश्न ये
ye tv anye śuddha-manaso dayā-dharma-parāyaṇāḥ | santaś ca nitya-kriyā-carāḥ puṇyāḥ soma-loka-carāś ca ye ||
Doch jene anderen, deren Geist rein ist, die sich dem Mitgefühl und dem Dharma verschrieben haben, als wahrhaftige und disziplinierte Heilige leben und voller Verdienst sind—solche Wesen wandeln in der Welt Somas. Der Vers hebt hervor, dass innere Reinheit, Erbarmen und standhafte ethische Lebensführung zu einem erhabenen Zustand nach dem Tod führen.
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
The verse teaches that purity of mind, compassion, and unwavering commitment to dharma—supported by steady observance of rightful duties—generate puṇya (merit) and lead to an elevated posthumous destination, here described as Soma-loka.
Maheśvara is describing categories of beings and their destinations based on conduct. In this line he points to “other” virtuous persons—pure-minded, compassionate, dharma-oriented, and disciplined—who attain and dwell in Soma’s heavenly realm.
