Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity

Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes certainty of karmic result: a commended deed yields a definite reward—here expressed as the attainment of heavenly maidens characterized by youth, beauty, and charm—stressing that moral causality is reliable (“no doubt”).

Bhīṣma, instructing on dharma and its fruits, describes the assured heavenly enjoyment that follows from a particular meritorious practice being discussed in the surrounding passage, concluding with the emphatic assurance that there is no uncertainty about this outcome.
